Santa is Coming to Town!

Santa Steamboat IIInstead of calling on Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen, Santa has asked to use the Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue’s (SSFR) Big Red Sleigh to share the holiday spirit and joy of the season with the Yampa Valley over twelve days leading up to Christmas.

“The station received a call last night from an unknown telephone number claiming to be an associate of Santa Claus,” chimed Firefighter/Paramedic Marnie Smith with SSFR. “They said Santa was looking for a way to visit the Yampa Valley and all the good boys and girls and asked if he could ride on atop our sleigh so his reindeer could rest for the big day.”

Over the twelve days leading up to Christmas, Santa Claus will visit a different neighborhood atop a bright red fire truck each evening.  The parade is anticipated to start around 4:30pm and last approximately one-hour while traveling through the areas listed below. The tentative schedule may change due to weather, road conditions and staff availability.

When on Oak between 5th to 3rd Streets-there will
be no sirens for our friends that don't do well with 
loud noises.

Gift Card Donation

Make the holiday spirit go further and a lot brighter by dropping off a gift card in a secure box at the front door of the Mountain Fire Station (2600 Pine Grove Road) or Steamboat Pilates (111 11th Street, Unit 103) during the Twelve Days of Christmas.  Santa will distribute the cards to those in need across the Yampa Valley and spread much needed holiday cheer.
