Ski Area Arrival Experience

The Ski Area Arrival Experience is sponsored by the Urban Redevelopment Authority Advisory Committee (URAAC) and the Steamboat Springs Redevelopment Authority (SSRA), the governing body of the Mountain Urban Renewal Area.

This study will propose how improvements to intersections, pedestrian and bicycle connections, transit facilities, streetscape and entry features along the Mt. Werner Road/Mt. Werner Circle corridor can enhance the overall arrival experience of summer and winter guests destined for the Mountain, whether by day or night.

Ski Area Arrival Experience - Preliminary Findings & Recommendations (PDF)

The goal is two fold:

  1. advance the conceptual planning for ten URAAC project activities, and
  2. prioritize these potential improvements for future capital budget recommendations.

Consultants from BrightView Design Group in Denver presented preliminary concepts and  solicited feedback from key stakeholders and the general public during meeting on August 23-25, 2016.

The sessions include a public open house on August 24th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Burgess Creek Room in the Steamboat Grand.
