STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 10, 2021-After numerous meetings, open houses and public input, the Steamboat Springs Airport Draft Master Plan is on final approach and is seeking public comment on the proposed plan before touchdown.
“The process has generated great input and suggestions over the more than year and counting process from a wide variety of entities,” said Project Manager Leah Whitfield with The Aviation Planning Group, the consultant on the project. “As a result, the final airport master plan will guide the orderly development of the Steamboat Springs Airport over the next 20 years.”
The Draft Master Plan can be found at steamboatsprings.net/KSBSMasterPlan. Compliance, Safety, and Capacity were the guiding principles for the Master Plan process. This master plan follows a systematic and sequential development, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration, which corresponds to the chapters of the report.
Please email comments on the Draft Airport Master Plan directly to email@example.com by 5pm on Monday, February 22. The Final Draft Master Plan will be presented to City Council as a resolution for adoption during the March 2 meeting.
An airport master plan is an important tool in determining an airport’s current and future development needs. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that the Steamboat Springs Airport - Bob Adams Field Master Plan be updated every 10 years. The previous master plan for the Airport was written in 2008.
