Council Policies
- Uphold the City of Steamboat Springs Code of Ethics.
- Make decisions and recommendations based on research, facts, and careful listening, taking into consideration short-term and long term goals, competing community interests, and using measurable evaluation criteria whenever possible.
- Provide City services to the community in a courteous, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Act in a fiscally responsible manner by following established financial policies.
- Enhance communication within and throughout the community, staff, local and regional governments, and other organizations.
- Foster new and existing partnerships that meet community needs.
- Integrate the Steamboat Springs Area Community Plan in all aspects of community development.
- Facilitate economic opportunities while protecting the natural environment, culture, community character and heritage.
- Preserve open space and agricultural lands while integrating appropriate recreational opportunities whenever possible.
