Please take notice that on or after Tuesday, August 2, 2011 nomination petitions for the Steamboat Springs City Council may be obtained from:

Completed petitions must be returned to the City Clerk on or before Monday, August 22, 2011, 5:30 p.m.

Four City Council positions: three 4-year positions representing each of the election districts of the City, and one 2-year at-large position, will be voted upon at the general municipal election (part of the Routt County coordinated election) to be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.

Eligible candidates must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the election. They must have resided in the municipality for a period of at least 12 consecutive months immediately proceeding the date of the election, and they must be a resident of the District that they will represent. All Steamboat Springs City Council elections are non-partisan campaigns.

Mail-in ballots can be applied for at the office of the County Clerk and Recorder, 522 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs, CO.

Also, you may view or download a form online (attached below), fill out the form and mail to Routt County Clerk & Recorder, Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477-3598 by the above specified dates.

office, library, schools and Social Services.
● You may also register to vote when applying for your driver’s license.
● You must have attained the age of 18 years by Election Day.
● You must be a citizen of the United States.
● You must have resided in the State of Colorado at least thirty days and in your
precinct at least thirty days before the election.

It is a crime to affirm falsely as to your qualifications to register to vote.
