WZ Club - Archery

WZ Teen Club will provide parents of 6th, 7th and 8th graders with an alternative afterschool activity for their kids for six Tuesdays this fall. We have an exciting schedule planned this year, kicking off with an Introduction to Archery program! Teen Programs staff will meet participants at the SSMS flagpole at 3:20 p.m. and transport them in a city vehicle to the scheduled activity. Parents/Guardians should pick up their child at 5:30 p.m. at the City of Steamboat Springs Igloo building, located at 279 Howelsen Parkway, next to the Howelsen Ice Arena. We will provide a healthy snack for each participant.

Programs for 6th-8th graders will travel out of Steamboat Springs to experience a variety of recreation opportunities in the region. On past TOT trips we have visited Colorado Mills Mall, Flatiron Crossing Mall, Rock'n & Jam'n indoor Climbing Facilities, Dave'Busters, Fat City, Laser Quest laser tag, Boondocks Fun Center, American Paintball Coliseum, Downtown Aquarium, Museum of Nature & Science, & much more.

Snowboard Outreach Society (SOS)

In collaboration with the Snowboard Outreach Society (SOS), Teen Programs offer the Learn to Ride and University programs for Routt County youth. SOS is a non-profit organization that serves youth through the sport of snowboarding, adult mentoring, and civic engagement. The program uses snowboarding as a tool to convey the five core values of the curriculum; Courage, Discipline, Integrity, Wisdom and Compassion. The Teen Program is responsible for recruiting participants and adult volunteers, and coordinating all paperwork necessary. For more information contact Brooke Lightner at 970-879-4300.
