Emergency Response Team

The Steamboat Springs Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) is overseen by the Chief of Police and is led by Patrol Captain Joel Rae. The average team member has over 8.5 years of law enforcement experience. The Emergency Response Team trains 8-16 hours per month in all areas of special weapons and tactics. It is the mission of the Team to protect the lives in our community while utilizing superior police tactical skills, special weapons, and equipment. The backbone of the Emergency Response Team is teamwork and a dedication to all police duties.

Steamboat Springs Team Members: Chief of Police Joel Rae (Commander), Detective Dave Kleiber, Detective Jerry Stabile, School Resource Officer Josh Carrell, Officer Sam Silva, Sergeant Scott Middleton, Officer Matt Conley, and Officer Evan Noble. Officer Kristin Bantle is assigned Negotiator.
