It is the intent of Steamboat Springs High School and the Steamboat Springs Police Department to "provide a safe learning environment that promotes good health and is free from violence, weapons, hazards, vandalism, and substance abuse" for the students and staff of Steamboat Springs.
The Steamboat Springs Police Department School Resource Officer was established in 1997. Our School Resource Officer works in partnership with the school community to address school-based concerns using multi-faceted and innovative approaches.
Officer Josh Carrell was raised in Steamboat Springs and attended Steamboat Springs High School. He teaches, as well as makes presentations to various classes, such as Driver's Education, Health, Business, Ethics, Traffic Laws, and the dangers of drug abuse. Officer Carrell's school office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
