Share the Road – Bike, Walk, and Drive Safely

Bicyclists
Wear your helmet
Be visible; use lights at night
Signal before turning or stopping
Ride single file; pass other cyclists on the left
Obey traffic control devices
Ride with traffic
Be predictable; ride in a straight line

Motorists
Follow the speed limit
Yield to pedestrians in crosswalk
Use caution when passing or turning; be alert for bikes/peds
Be careful when opening doors on a roadside
Wait for safe conditions to pass; leave 3 ft between vehicle and cyclist
When in doubt, yield to cyclists

Pedestrians
Make eye contact with drivers; assume drivers may not stop
Walk facing traffic where no sidewalk exists
Cross at intersections and marked walks; don’t jaywalk
Look both ways before crossing an intersection
Be visible by wearing reflective clothing
