YOUTH SPORTS
The City of Steamboat Springs Parks & Community Services Department manages the following Youth Sports programs:
  • Youth Flag Football League
  • Youth Spring & Summer Hockey League
  • NFL Punt, Pass & Kick

INTRO TO HOCKEY
The Intro to Hockey program is a collaboration with the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association and the Howelsen Ice Arena, and provides girls and boys a fun, safe, and interactive first step into the game of hockey. Hockey equipment is required and will be supplied if needed at no costs, courtesy of the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association. 

REGISTRATION FOR SESSION II INTRO TO HOCKEY IS NOW OPEN!!!

SESSION II:
November 6th through December 18th
DAY/TIME: Mondays from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM
COST: ASSET Intro to Hockey $160 / Non-ASSET Intro to Hockey $110

A parent orientation meeting will be announced once registration is underway. At this meeting, you will be able to size your child for gear, meet the coaches, and ask any questions regarding the program. 


STEAMBOAT YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL - FALL 2017

MISSION: 
Create a safe environment to teach the proper fundamentals of football.  In addition to football skills this program will a teach students-athletes the valuable skill of being a team player and gracious teammate.  Each member will be accountable to their, parents, teammates, coaches, school and community.  Each student-athlete will be exposed to a positive experience.  Every participant will learn to become a positive contributing member to the community while adhering to the 4 Core Values.

FOOTBALL PHILOSOPHY:  
Teach and participate in a non-impact program with age appropriate standards for each level.   Every player will learn all positions for all 3 phases of the game, Offense, Defense and Special Teams.  The program will stress a competitive spirit while teaching student-athletes to be humble in winning and losing. Practices will be age appropriate in length and skill development. 

FORMAT:
Players will continue to use the NFL Flag rules, structure and field design

LOCATION: Ski Town Fields

DAY/TIME: Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15pm-6:00pm *Date Change*

DATES: Monday, August 28th - Wednesday, October 18th

COST: $150 per player or $100 per player with two or more family members

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The week of October 16th and 18th will be Championship Week with tournament games being played on both days.  There will be a BBQ after the final game on the 18th for all players and family.  Players will be participating at the Steamboat High School game on the Friday night October 20th, players will be invited to pre and post-game activities while playing during the halftime intermission.

TEE-BALL, COACH PITCH AND YOUTH BASEBALL

Tee Ball and coach pitch are designed to teach basic baseball skills to kids K-3rd grades. The program is now run by Yampa Valley Youth Baseball Association.

In addition, Yampa Valley Youth Baseball now provides baseball for kids 9-14 years old. Please contact their organization for more information.


YOUTH BASKETBALL

This program is designed for boys and girls in 3rd through 6th grades who want to learn more about the fundamentals of basketball in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Youth soccer is not a city program.
The Steamboat Soccer Club is for kids ages 5-18.
