Municipal Court sessions are open to the public.

Through the authority of the Colorado State Statutes and the city home rule charter, the Steamboat Springs Municipal Court has jurisdiction over alleged misdemeanor municipal code and traffic violations within the city limits.

Certain charges require a court appearance, while others may be resolved by simply paying a fine. The Municipal Court is a court of record and court employees are not permitted to provide legal advice. However, they are happy to answer procedural questions.

Judges are not allowed to discuss your court case on the phone. Submit your request in writing or call the court clerk's office to be added on to a court docket.
