In The Same 'Boat

Teens are an important part of our community and keeping them safe is a top priority.

The Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) is committed to keeping our teens healthy and safe through ongoing outreach efforts, community events, and easy access to teen safety resources.

In addition to ongoing outreach efforts, the SSPD has developed  'In The Same 'Boat', an inter-agency collaboration to promote and cultivate community support and encourage teen safety in the Yampa Valley. The goal of this program is to support teens by bringing awareness to the social challenges they face, and connecting them and their parents with valuable tools and resources available within the community.

Most importantly, we want teens to know that we care about them and the choices they make!

Teen Safety Week (2023) - May 8 - May 13

As part of the teen safety initiative, the SSPD, in partnership with local agencies and non-profit organizations, will be hosting the first annual Teen Safety Week from May 8 - May 13.

Teen Safety Week will include various outreach and education initiatives at our local schools, online, and within the community. Each weekday will highlight a different safety theme and offer information and tips for teens and their parents.
