Howelsen Hill Tennis Courts to Close for Maintenance

Tennis NewsFlash 2

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 21, 2021-LOVE, LOVE is not a score most tennis players like to hear, but it is love to the ears of local tennis players when the Howelsen Hill Courts get some TLC (tender loving care) next week.

The outdoor tennis and pickleball courts at Howelsen Hill will be closed beginning on Monday, July 26 for maintenance and surface repairs. During this time, the courts will be closed for all uses and not available to the public.

Coatings, Inc. out of Arvada will be performing the work, which included filling and sanding existing cracks in the court surface and adding layers of adhesive fabric to prevent cracks from reforming.

The crack repair system being used will effectively spread the stress of the crack over a wide area and prevent new cracks from forming on the court surfaces. In addition, the courts will also receive a fresh coat of paint.

Pending no major weather delays, the work is expected to be completed on Saturday, July 31 and the courts will reopen on Sunday, August 1.
