STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-November 15, 2022-The Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) recently presented leadership awards to three employees during the department’s appreciation function.
“We wanted to recognize and thank all of our employees for their dedication and commitment and express our sincere appreciation to their families for their support,” said Police Chief Sherry Burlingame. “This was the first year the department recognized these leadership awards. It was a tough decision and I want to congratulate Sam, Forest & Greg on their achievement.”
Police Chief Burlingame along with Commander Mark Beckett and Manager Christina Stewart presented Sergeant Sam Silva with the Leader of the Year named in honor of Sgt Jeff Wilson, Evidence Technician Forest Yeager with Professional Staff of the Year and Detective Greg Griffin with Officer of the Year.
“We’re fortunate to have so many dedicated officers and staff serving our community,” continued Burlingame. “These awards set a high standard for excellence, and I know will inspire all of us to strive to be our best every day for each other and our city.”
The Steamboat Springs Police Department is comprised of more than twenty-nine sworn police officers and nearly fifteen civilian personnel, who provide around the clock public safety services to the City of Steamboat Springs. Last year, the department responded to more than 13,000 calls for service across patrol services, investigations, evidence, animal control, community service and records.
