Senior Night HIA NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-January 24, 2023-The Howelsen Ice Arena is looking to make sure 18 seniors from two local teams don’t soon forget what it means to play before your hometown this weekend on senior night.

“Game night is always a big deal no matter where you play,” said Howelsen Ice Arena Supervisor Dmitry Chase. “However, when game night is also senior night, it’s extra special and we want to pack the rink each night so these players enjoy home ice and this special occasion.”

The U19 Girls Hockey team skates on the ice first on Friday evening, January 27, at 6:45pm when they take on league rival Aspen. The U19 girls are undefeated in their season and pulled in the Big W at the MLK tournament for the second year in a row with 4 shutouts and a 4 1 win against Aspen. The ladies will see four seniors out of the roughly 15-player squad celebrate this special evening on their home sheet.

Anyone attending the U19 Girls Friday Game will receive a free ticket to be entered into a drawing that includes gift cards from local businesses including Cruisers Sub Shop ($25), Backdoor Sports ($25), the Ice House ($50), Old Town Pub ($100), Mountain Springs Physical Therapy ($140) and Howelsen Ice Arena ($50)
