  1. City Council Election-Nomination Petition Available

    August 6, 2019, 7:30 AM - August 26, 2019, 5:30 PM

    Candidates for Municipal offices shall be nominated (without regard to political party affiliation) by a petition form supplied by the City Clerk (this form will be released on August 6, 2019 at 7:30am). Nomination petitions may be circulated and signed beginning on day 91 prior to the election (August 6, 2019) and ending on day 71 prior to the election (August 26, 2019). Each nomination petition shall be filed with the City Clerk no later the 5:30 p.m. on Monday August 26, 2019.

  1. Free Summer Concert Series

    The Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series (SSFSCS/the Series) began in 1993 as a small concert series with several hundred in attendance and presented on the lawn of the Routt County Court House, the community gathering space in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. Started by a small record shop owner and friends, the Series now features 5 concerts per year with attendance averaging 3,500 to 7,000 per concert for an annual average of 25,000. The SSFSCS boasts nationally recognized artists in the area of pop-rock, reggae, bluegrass, blues, and funk. The series is a gathering for all ages and has become truly one of the signature family events in the valley. Audience sizes can fluctuate relative to the performer’s popularity or how the concert is schedule in relation to signature event weekends. With a great mix of locals and visitors the concerts are both a social event for those who call Steamboat home and an awesome addition to any vacation to the Yampa Valley.

  2. Steamboat Stinger

    The Steamboat Stinger, now a Colorado classic, aims to provide a challenging backcountry race experience showcasing some of Steamboat Springs’ finest singletrack. The Steamboat Stinger is also a fundraiser for Partners in Routt County (local youth mentoring group) and the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund. In addition to the Saturday mountain bike race, we feature a full and half trail marathon on Sunday. These two events can be separate or, if you wish to take the ultimate challenge, you can participate in both – the 50 mile solo mountain bike race as well as the 26.2 trail marathon the following day. The male and female winners with the lowest combined bike and run times shall be crowned King Sting and Queen Bee. Not ready to take on the full Queen Bee or King Sting? Go halvsies with the Bumble Bee! Take your duo lap time and combine it with your half marathon time for a chance to win.

    The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market, located on 7th and Yampa streets and the 7th street parking lot, is held on Saturdays from mid-June to Mid September. Our official hours are 9 am to 2 pm but if you are out riding your bike or getting in a quick run before the day’s events, you can usually pick up a cup of coffee, pastry or even a breakfast burrito before the crowds arrive. The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market features fresh fruit and vegetables each week, many of our vegetable vendors are from right here in Steamboat, but a lot of folks drive in from Palisades or the front range to round out our selection. We focus on food and offer a wide variety of local and cottage industry products. You can pick up fresh bread and pies, local beef, bison, pork and lamb as well as jams, syrups and even horseradish.

  4. Yampa River Clean-Up & Celebration

    The Friends of the Yampa along with several partners will be organizing an annual, post 4th of July, Yampa River river clean up this coming Saturday, August 10th, 2019. We typically do this clean up in early July but due to the high water we have bumped this to August. This event is an annual “river-wide” clean up that engages volunteers to give back to the Yampa River so to remind us all to respect the Yampa by keeping it clean and trash free. Who: YOU and the Friends of the Yampa, the city of Steamboat Springs, Northwest Colorado Chapter of Parrotheads, Yampa River State Park, Soda Creek Pizza, Mountain Tap Brewery and other volunteer citizens. What: Annual river wide clean up on the Yampa River When: Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9am-noon’ish with pizza party afterward Where: Steamboat Springs, Hayden (Yampa River State Park) and in Craig, Colorado.
