Colorado is home to some of the most inspiring landscapes in the country. With mountains that reach to the sky, rushing rivers, and starry nights like you’ve never seen, the Centennial state is a runner’s dream – and you have the chance to experience it like you never have before! The Wild West Relay starts in the foothills of beautiful Fort Collins before sending runners deep into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This scenic and remote course takes athletes over two mountain passes and through three national forests before reaching the finish line in the idyllic ski town of Steamboat Springs. Along the way you’ll pass picture perfect mountain communities, working ranches, and the jaw-dropping vistas that typify the American west. You’ll run on dirt roads and under starry skies and when you and your team cross the finish line at the Steamboat Springs ski resort, you’ll be rewarded with a cold beer and an even colder dip in the Yampa River that winds its way right through town.
The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market, located on 7th and Yampa streets and the 7th street parking lot, is held on Saturdays from mid-June to Mid September. Our official hours are 9 am to 2 pm but if you are out riding your bike or getting in a quick run before the day’s events, you can usually pick up a cup of coffee, pastry or even a breakfast burrito before the crowds arrive. The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market features fresh fruit and vegetables each week, many of our vegetable vendors are from right here in Steamboat, but a lot of folks drive in from Palisades or the front range to round out our selection. We focus on food and offer a wide variety of local and cottage industry products. You can pick up fresh bread and pies, local beef, bison, pork and lamb as well as jams, syrups and even horseradish.
