Summer Programs
The City of Steamboat Springs offers several options for kids and families through the summer. The activities of each camp are designed to challenge the level of each age group. On trip days, staff target skills for the safe enjoyment of outdoor adventures in the Rocky Mountains.
2026 Summer Camp Registration Dates
- Friday March 20 at noon for Themed Camps & Fun Fridays only
- Friday March 27 at noon for regular Summer Camp

Summer Camps
Adventurers Summer Camp
- Open To: Kids entering Kindergarten (must be 5 years old by Oct 1, 2026 AND enrolled in kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year)
- Location: Howelsen Ice Arena Community Room (upstairs)
- Dates: Monday - Thursday
- Times: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Explorers Summer Camp
- Open To: Ages 6 - 8 (restricted to children entering 1st - 2nd grade)
- Location: Soda Creek Elementary
- Dates: Monday - Thursday
- Times: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Mountaineers Summer Camp
- Open To: Ages 8 - 11 (restricted to children entering 3rd - 5th grade)
- Location: Soda Creek Elementary
- Dates: Monday - Thursday
- Times: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Themed Camps
In addition to daily summer camps, the City of Steamboat Springs offers a variety of exciting week-long, skill-building programs called Themed Camps. Space is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fun Fridays
In addition to daily summer camps, the City of Steamboat Springs offers a variety of exciting single day programs called Fun Fridays. Space is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scholarship Application
The City of Steamboat Springs offers scholarships up to a maximum of 50% for youth program registrations to those who meet income eligibility guidelines.
Therapeutic Recreation
The Adventure Bound Summer Camps have an inclusion program that addresses children with special needs in the least restrictive environment. Parents are asked to call in advance to indicate your child’s specific needs and set up suitable programming and staffing. Please read through our Parent Handbook about specifics on participating through the inclusion program.
