Welcome

Join us for the second season of the Town Challenge River Race Series! This fun race series offers a wide variety of race formats. The series will feature races for Whitewater Kayaks (short and long), Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) and Rafts, and aims to provide a competitive yet fun atmosphere for participants and spectators. We are still in the early stages of planning, so check back often for additional information and updates. We look forward to racing on the Yampa River with you this spring! 

Due to the anticipated low flows this spring, the Town Challenge River Race Series dates have been moved up and the number of total races has been condensed. 

Schedule

  • April 15 - Yampa River Sprint - Time Trial (5th Street Bridge to D-Hole, 4 PM Check-In, 6 PM Start)
  • April 29 (Tentative) - Yampa River Challenge - Obstacle Course (5th Street Bridge to D-Hole | 4 PM Check-In, 6 PM Start)

Volunteer

We love our volunteers! The Town Challenge Race Series is made possible by a great group of volunteers. From marking the courses, to helping with racer check-in and timing, we strive to provide a fun and involved experience for all our volunteers. 

Please note, if you want to volunteer on our river safety crew, you will be required to show proof of an active swiftwater rescue certification.
