STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-May 9, 2022-Sweep, wash, clean and pick your way to a productive day across Routt County when you join your neighbors and the community for the annual Routt County Clean Up Day, scheduled for Saturday morning, May 20.
“Now that the snow has melted, it reveals all the treasures winter has covered!” said Main Street Steamboat Springs Executive Director Lisa Popovich. “Getting our hands dirty to make sure our community looks amazing provides a great feeling. Plus, it’s easy to see what you accomplished.”
Community clean up days are a great way to meet some of your neighbors in the valley as well as ensure Steamboat Springs gets a fresh touch up before summer.
Who can participate? Anyone old enough to help and kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For additional information and to sign up, visit http://volunteersignup.org/XQ7PT.
Make sure to bring a pair of garden gloves, a water bottle, and a smile. Remember to dress in layers as volunteers will be out rain/snow or shine. Groups will be picking up litter, removing stickers and old posters from the downtown area. Snacks and good times will be provided.
Volunteers should meet in the Fireplace Room at Howelsen Hill between 8 to 8:30am on Saturday to receive assignments. Please invite your friends or organize your neighborhood to get out there and pick up some trash across the county!
