STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-October 26, 2023-Coffee with Cops flows to Yampa Street in the heart of downtown when Emerald Coffee pushes the brew button on the next edition of the popular Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) program.
“Emerald Coffee and SSPD believes that good coffee is the foundation of a great day,” said Police Chief Mark Beckett. “This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know us better and enjoy time with old and new friends in a welcoming environment. So, join us at Emerald Coffee to wake up, recharge and celebrate organically.”
Enjoy interacting with officers while savoring a freshly brewed organic cup of coffee. In addition, get to know Chief Beckett, Commander Brown, and members of the SSPD including officers, detectives, school resource officers, animal control and community services and professional staff, who protect and serve our city every day of the year.
Coffee with Cops is based on the police department’s daily briefings, which allows face to face interaction, sharing information and checking in with each other in a compressed time frame. In addition to SSPD, members of the Routt County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand for this fully caffeinated edition from 8:30am to 10:30am at Emerald Coffee (700 Yampa, A105) with the entrance on 7th Street near the alley.
The program is designed to allow open, two-way dialogue between the community and the police department and our officers. Community members can ask questions and learn about the men and women who serve our community. Most law enforcement contacts with the public occur during emergencies, or emotional situations. As one can understand, those situations are not the most effective time or way to build relationships.
Emerald Coffee takes its name from Emerald Mountain, the gem of Steamboat Springs. Lots of recreational activities take place on and around Emerald: mountain biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, riding, volleyball, baseball, skiing, sledding, hockey, rodeo, concerts, etc. The mountain represents the spirit of the town. Emerald Coffee aims to be a gem of the town as well and fuel you for all your activities on or around Emerald.
