STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-April 25, 2024-In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) responded to a 911 call regarding an occupant of a home who was stabbed by an unknown assailant.
The victim, the only person in the house at the time, was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center for treatment of the severe injury sustained during the attack. Police Officers were able to identify a suspect quickly and made an arrest a few hours later.
The juvenile suspect was charged with first degree burglary and first degree assault. This was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community.
All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
