Steamboat Springs, Colorado – December 16, 2025-At approximately 12:11pm on Tuesday, December 16, SSPD officers received a report of a male subject, identified as Cory Silvia, a 33-year-old male residing in Oak Creek, Colorado, causing a disturbance at Old Town Hot Springs (OTHS).
Officers contacted the male and were able to calm him down. After the male was released, SSPD obtained additional information that Silvia had made significant and serious threats against staff at OTHS via social media.
Upon review of these social media posts, investigators determined there was probable cause for several criminal charges. A detective in an unmarked police vehicle located Silvia walking on Lincoln Ave near 10th Street and SSPD officers contacted him and arrested him without incident.
Silvia was booked into the Routt County Jail for menacing, harassment, cyber bullying, and disorderly conduct. SSPD does not believe there is any further threat to OTHS nor any staff.
All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
