STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-March 17, 2026-The Urban Redevelopment Authority Advisory Committee (URAAC) is inviting community members and stakeholders to apply for five open positions that help guide the ongoing revitalization of the Mountain Base Area.

URAAC plays an essential advisory role, making recommendations to the Steamboat Springs Redevelopment Authority (SSRA) on how to allocate Urban Renewal Authority (URA) funds in support of the Base Area Reinvestment Plan. The plan focuses on improving infrastructure, enhancing public spaces, and strengthening the overall visitor experience in the mountain area.

URAAC currently has five seats open on the committee and is seeking qualified applicants in the following categories:

Base Area Business Person (2 Open Seats)
Owner or agent of an owner of a business or property in the URA Base Area

Community Member At-Large (2 Open Seats)
A full-time resident of Steamboat Springs, preferably with professional expertise and/or technical interest in the URA Base Area.

Design Professional (1 Open Seat)
Principal or key employee of a local architecture, civil engineering or other design firm.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 3, by 5pm. Interested individuals must complete the online application through the city’s website.

Key projects supported by the URAAC have included the redevelopment of Ski Time Square Drive, Mt. Werner/Ski Time Square Roundabout, Complete Streets projects and the ongoing public-private partnerships to upgrade the Gondola Transit Center and Meadows Parking Lot—all critical investments in the long-term success of the base area.

URAAC meets approximately ten times per year, typically on the first Thursday of the month, in the Carver Room at Centennial Hall (124 10th Street). The City of Steamboat Springs Public Works Department provides staff support for URAAC and oversees project implementation approved by the SSRA.
