[ARCHIVED] Hit & Run With Serious Bodily Injury Results In Arrest

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-April 6, 2023-On Tuesday, April 4, at approximately 11pm, Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) and Routt County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded Raymond Dyer (002)to the Homewood Suites, 3600 South Lincoln Avenue, in response to a report of a hit and run with serious injuries.

First responders located a juvenile victim who had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the business. The juvenile sustained serious injuries and was transported to UC Health/Yampa Valley Medical Center by Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue.

Officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away. It was discovered the driver, Raymond Dyer, was in a room at the hotel. A search warrant was executed at the room and Dyer was arrested and charged without incident. 

Dyer is charged with Vehicular Assault, DUI and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident. 

All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
