[ARCHIVED] Strolling Along Sidewalk Detour on Lincoln Avenue

Sidewalk Detour Lincoln NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 27, 2023-Westbound US40 motorist will encounter a one-lane closure starting at 6:30am and running until approximately noon on Monday, July 31, for crews to install barriers along the parking lane between 10th Street and the Nordic Lodge.

The city is working with FCI Constructors, Inc. to build a new City Hall near the intersection of Lincoln Ave and 10th Street. The new City Hall will be built right along the south property line (Lincoln Ave.) and requires the existing sidewalk to be removed for construction.

The lane closure will permit crews to install jersey barriers along the parking lane to create a temporary sidewalk detour during the project. An ADA accessible path will be shifted into the parking lane in westbound Lincoln Ave between the jersey barriers and the construction fence.

The temporary sidewalk detour will include Type 7 concrete jersey barriers between pedestrians and vehicle traffic and chain link fencing between pedestrians and the active construction site.

City staff will work with FCI Constructors to ensure the temporary sidewalk detour is maintained throughout the closure, which is currently planned to start the end of July 2023 and remain in place through the end of September 2024.
