2020 Summer Sand Volleyball
UPDATE 7/1/2020 As the rules and guidelines around adult leagues and outdoor recreation have loosened, it has provided us with the opportunity to offer some recreation programming this summer.
With these recent changes, the City of Steamboat Springs will be offering an abbreviated Summer Volleyball League beginning on July 21. Unlike other adult sports, volleyball is consistently listed as one of the safest group sports when comparing it to others. Social distancing is much easier to maintain, group sizes are smaller, and there is lower person-to-person contact.
Please know that this summer’s league will look very different than they have in the past. In order to maintain the required group sizes and social distancing, there will be many new rules and procedures that we will be asking teams to follow. In order to make this successful, we will need everyone’s help and cooperation. Also, please know that our ability to host leagues could change at any time, depending on future public health orders.
Additional information including registration details and COVID-19 mitigation plans/requirements, will be distributed via e-mail and the website next week.
